Removal of The Mask/ Take Me to The King
If you’re a fan of gospel music, I’m sure by now you’ve heard and have been moved by the hit single by Tamela Mann, “Take Me To The King”
This song has become one of my favorites. I also have a new tweeter that I’ve added to my favorites, (@livelovekia). Kia Granberry is a minister in Memphis, TN. About a month ago she shared a link of a sermon she delivered entitled, Take Me To The King: Removal of The Mask. The sermon like the song is inspired by the biblical story of Queen Esther. I’ve shared the sermon with over a dozen people who have in turned shared it with others. This sermon, although seemingly directed towards women, surely can and has blessed brothers too. I hope you enjoy it and be sure to share it with someone else. Listen to it on your phone during your commute or during your daily devotion time. Whatever you do, LISTEN TO IT!
Here it is… Removal of The Mask by Kia Granberry

Church Notes from 10/14/12… GRACE
Once you trust the Grace of God, you become enabled and empowered to victor over your shortcomings.Often we sin reasoning with ourselves because GOD is good and his grace WILL cover our sin (and it will) because he loves me, I can keep on with my sinning as long as I remember to ask for forgiveness. This is so wrong…Our sins were forgiven through Christ’s crucifixion over 2000 years ago. Don’t think God won’t chastise you. HE WILLPunishment vs. Chastising:Stop walking in the belief that you’re being punished by God. NO! You’re not being punished. Remember, the price of your sins were paid before you ever uttered a word or inhaled a breath. You’re not being punished. Stop believing that and stop teaching your children that.On the other hand, God will and does chastise us. What is chastising? Its a discipline of correction. Think about how you may have chastised your own child or been chastised as a child. Why was it done? Was it for punishment or was it for correction? Remember GOD IS LOVE so he operates in love. He wants us to be RIGHT (correct).
You will come to the point where your heart will be contrite and GRACE (Jesus) will be present to show you that that’s enough. So, STOP! Begin to embrace grace completely and fully, not the sinful practices you’ve enjoyed.
Too often we enjoy our sins with the insurance of grace instead of trusting grace in the first place to handle our needs and desires so that we won’t be compelled to act in sin.
Listen, have confidence in grace. You cannot walk in the fear of God without grace. With grace comes the requirement of obedience, just like in faith. Obedience is an element of trust (faith). Standing firm in the love of God, believing that his love will not falter (grace).

What Is God’s Expectation of Us?
God’s expectation of is to love. It is simple. It requires a full serving of who we are, not just some of who we are. Sin has taken us on a roller coaster ride which zips by, loops around, ducks under and flies over… LOVE
The only way to control that ride is to entrust it to God. Will you give him control or will “religion” and “traditions” keep you at bay?

BALANCE: 1 Peter 5:8
Be well balanced… for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring… seeking someone to seize upon and devour.
In your RELAUNCH, you have to follow a strict “diet”, being mindful of what you “consume.” Doing so will bring balance to your life. Our minds, our bodies, our mouths… they all need balance. In your RELAUNCH you must be sober. Soberness is letting go of weights. Weights are stresses, past hurts, worrying, carrying hatred… If you’re struggling with these weights, its imperative that you just drop them. Leave them right where they are. If you can’t muster the esteem to be confident in yourself, be confident in Christ, and say “Take this Jesus. I’m tired of caring about these pains and of carrying them.” Be confident in God’s promises and his protection. Allow him to be the center of your life. After all, he is the perfect balance!
Deuteronomy 31: The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. DO NOT BE AFRAID; DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED.
So as you RELAUNCH, seek balance through Christ Jesus.

1 Timothy 2:1-3
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.
