Week 2: July 13th-July 19th

Water:
On Monday, I went to Whole Foods and purchased several gallons of water. I’ve began leaving water at work so that I have no excuse for not drinking it throughout the day.  I find it easy to drink water as long as it is COLD and I have a straw! Typically, I keep a 20 oz. cup with me throughout the day and as soon as it becomes empty, I pour up another cup. I begin my day with a cup of water. When I head to work, I pour up a cup to go and sip it on my short drive into downtown. Of course as expected all this water leads to a lot of  ”restroom” breaks. Today I realized that about every 45 minutes to an hour I have to take a potty break. It doesn’t bother me that I’ve been going so much as I realize that it is a healthy thing and that I’m simply flushing out. Some of my co-workers on the other hand have found amusement in it, nothing negative but amusing.

Food:
Breakfast:
Breakfast ranges from a Cheese Omelet to Kashi cereal. I use cage free organic eggs and organic non homogenized provolone cheese to make my omelets.

Lunch:
Lunch is typically a salad. I’ve been eating a lot of mixed greens, but I think I’ll get some Arugala this weekend to switch it up a bit. Some days I have grilled chicken on my salad. A couple times I’ve added a bit of chicken salad too.  A brunch this week was quite a delight. I had a ribeye prepared medium, an oregano, tomato and provolone omelet with sliced fruits too!

Dinner:
Dinner has been either soup or a salad. Depending on how late I get home and how heavy lunch was that day. I’ve had baked chicken, greens, pasta and asparagus from the hot bar at WHM. OMG… That hot bar is truly YUMMY! I made an all organic homemade minestrone soup this week… D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!

Since I’ve been on this “diet”, which I truly consider a “Live-It”;  I’ve realized that when I was smaller just I was able to maintain my weight by preparing my own meals daily. Realizing that, I understand that it is imperative for me to begin cooking regularly again and to back away from eating socially. My regular lunch dates must be decreased if not completely eliminated until I can get myself disciplined like I use to be.

Cardio:
Running around the park has slowly become fun. The hills on the other hand… I walk those! I’m looking for an early morning step aerobics class, but if I can’t find one I think I’ll just invest in the a step myself and some other equipment. I’m crossing my fingers for a class!! Week 1: July 5th – July 12th
What is the God/Goddess Body Diet?

- Abstinence from Alcohol
- Abstinence from Sex
- At least 6 hours of sleep every night
- No packaged food unless it is signified as Organic
- Consume a gallon of water every day
- No farmed fish or meat
- Dairy products must be cage free, non- homogenized
- 3 days of cardio workout. Can include core workouts for strength training (i.e. Yoga, Pilates, Swimming)

When I first went to shop for this diet, I was blown away at the cost associated with organic and all natural, uncaged, non homogenized foods. Like, I walked out of Whole Foods with 2 large grocery bags and 2 small bags and a receipt that read a total of almost $90!

However, its not as bad as it seems. Today is Day 3 and I can already see how much better and consistently I’m eating meals. You can’t skip a meal and grab food on the go on this diet, nor can you grab a snack out of the machine. No! With the GBD, you must be prepared and disciplined daily.

For snacks I eat fresh fruits or organic animal crackers. Today I ate an omelet with provolone cheese and fresh oregano! It was so yummy and all organic. Lunch was leftovers from the night before, cage free chicken, organic string beans and organic mac & cheese!! Dinner was soup from the soup bar at Whole Foods.

Tomorrow I will do some jogging around the neighborhood. Luckily water is my drink of choice and to knock out a gallon a day is already a habit.

My biggest fear is STARBUCKS, but I have some Tazo Tea to substitute… definitely not my usual Grande Soy Caramel Macchiatto with extra, extra, EXTRA drizzle; however it’ll do for now!

Well, that’s all for tonight. See ya next Thursday for an update!!
