The clouds was hating on the moon tryna block her glow knowing that this was her big show
they hustled and laid it on thick
one on top of the other creating a wall so thick
but she just laughed and said for this I have a trick
She let Bama’s clouds do what they do and she gave the rest of the nations a reason to hug they boo
The moon turned into a beautiful redbone tonight
Shining bright to the world even while she was hated on by a few
She didn’t let the haters stop her shine
She inspired me even though I didn’t see her this time
But before dinner I saw her glow, all pearly white with an innocent glow
Now I’ll sit back and sip some wine, reminiscing like an ancestor about when she danced like this the last time
The child in me wants to be upset that I missed this and so I cry tears and my face is all wet
But the love in me knows that despite the view, her love for me still reigns true!
